    Need Customs Broker?

    GENERAL INFORMATION:


          Whenever goods are carried across border, they have to undergo customs clearance. To shorten the time such a procedure will take, the cargo- or goods-owner solicits services of a customs broker.

          Customs broker - an expert effecting customs clearance of goods and other property permitted for import into /export out of Ukraine with the bodies of state customs control. The relations between the client and the customs broker will be governed by the agreement they have reached.


    RESPONSIBILITIES OF CUSTOMS BROKER:


          Following a request filed by the client, the broker draws up a declaration, which he will subsequently submit to a customs body. The customs broker must keep commercial secrets confided in him by the client.


    DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR CUSTOMS CLEARANCE:


          The client must submit to the customs broker the following information and originals and copies of the documents:
    • - off-registration from the importer/exporter's customs of accreditation;
    • - contract of import/export of goods;
    • - currency declaration;
    • - entrepreneur's registration;
    • - goods transportation documents;
    • - goods quality certificates;
    • - officially stamped invoices bearing signatures of the director and chief accountant (persons featured in the entrepreneur's registration).

    PAYMENT:


          The client pays to the customs broker for latter's services as agreed between the parties. Below, approximate rates are quoted for the services of a customs broker:
    • cargo customs declaration - 1 - $75 + 20% VAT (principal);
    • cargo customs declaration - 2 - $50 + 20% VAT (additional sheet);
    • cargo customs declaration - 3 - $50 + 20% VAT (preliminary).
          Payment is made in UAH at the rate of the National Bank of Ukraine by money transfer order within three days following the customs broker's bill.

          Amounts for customs procedures on each batch of goods must be transferred to the broker's account in advance.
